Who am i?
my name is ALIZa shapiro, MA
pronounced: /ah-lee-zah/, (they/them)
i’m a queer and genderqueer therapist, artist, lover of movement, chronic illness spoonie, dog companion, french fry connoisseur, and big fan of meandering through the woods on a trail to a mountain view or a lake dip or just to smell the trees. i’m a connected ashkenazi jew, a lover of astrology and enneagram work, and a believer in organizing within community to create change (beyond the therapy room).
EDUCATION:
university of colorado - denver, MA counseling
tufts university, ba anthropology
beliefs around the change process:
change is rarely one big, defining moment
every small, different, decision you make is a another step towards change
this is not a linear process
it can be frustrating and demoralizing to feel like the process is slow; being witnessed is an essential support
